Overview
Travertine Hot Springs is an absolutely beautiful and magical hot spring. While there are a few other hot springs within walking distance, the main pool offers three separate pool areas and is centered by a beautiful rock formation that trickles water down on visitors.

Do be warned that this pool is known for being very hot at times and like most hot springs, this is a clothing optional area. This natural geothermal spring is located near Bridgeport about 30 minutes from Mono Lake or the ghost town of Bodie.
The pool also offers majestic views of the Sierra Nevada mountains and is relatively quiet in comparison to some of the more heavily used hot springs near the Mammoth area. I have visited Travertine Hot Springs with my wife on multiple occasions and it is one of my favorite hot springs in the United States.

There is just something special about the way it looks and how the water drips over the ledge onto you as you bathe in the springs. For a more intimate experience, try visiting early in the morning and you will be treated to a magical setting.

Help keep these places as wild as possible while not diminishing the outdoor experience of others.
Please, please refrain from bringing any sort of bottled beer, liquor or any other glass that may break and get into the hot springs. This sounds very basic, but I constantly see people showing up with liquor bottles or beer bottles. Please help keep these areas clean and free from hazards such as glass.
