Overview
Recently, I have become aware of how phenomenal many public libraries are and the many things they have to offer. Admittedly, libraries are a place that I have rather seldom visited over my years of life. Now that I have a little child, I’ve branched out a little bit and have been rather shocked to learn how cool and entertaining so many libraries are, offering especially unique and fun areas for children. While visiting libraries with a two year old can be tough, it’s also been a great way for us to introduce our daughter, Scout, to playing quietly in indoor spaces.
The abundance of amazing libraries with children’s sections in and around the Phoenix and Scottsdale area is phenomenal. There are so many different great ones to visit with the kids and the Scottsdale Public Library is a prime example.
The back of the Scottsdale Public Library houses a huge children’s library along with a fantastic play area. This is one of our favorite libraries that we have visited with our daughter Scout. The children’s section has a medieval theme with creative trees circling the library and neat clouds featured on the ceiling.
The focal point of the children’s section is an utterly incredible castle, complete with a drawbridge in which kids can enter through to reach the play area.
The castle also features a sitting/reading area inside of the tower. The play area features a Brio train table, a tiny play castle with toys, a mini theater with puppets and a Lego type building block area.
This library is absolutely stunning and kids are sure to have a fantastic time playing and using their imaginations here.
If this isn’t enough, parents can stop by the nice playground directly outside, complete with large lawns and picnic areas as well.
