Overview
This amazing, 4 acre park in Huntington Beach, will have families jumping for joy when they visit. There is so much to do here and although it’s in Huntington Beach, it often feels very peaceful and secluded. The park is tucked into the back of Huntington Harbour, keeping it away from the PCH and busier areas.
A big, open grassy area is the first thing visitors will see when they arrive. Almost immediately after that, all eyes will drift toward the beach and the playground just in front of it. The main attraction at the playground is the nicely done pirate ship. Kids will have a blast playing here and when they are done they can run right down to the beach area. The beach is great for families and younger kids as there are no waves and the water stays pretty shallow. While the beach area can get a tad busy at times, this is a great spot to spend the day with the family.

Scout’s Story
After spending the morning with our 1 year old daughter, Scout, visiting her physician and watching her receive 6 vaccination shots, we decided to reward her by bringing her to Seabridge Park for some playground and beach time. Despite her arms and thighs being covered in band-aids, Scout was ready to play. As Scout has been walking for a few months now, we are still working towards getting her more comfortable on her feet and at navigating playground structures. We followed her around the playground and helped her when needed.
After about 30 minutes, it was starting to warm up and we made our way to the beach immediately in front of us to swim for a bit. Despite only being one, Scout has spent a large portion of her first year of life around and in the water. This was yet another great opportunity for us to get her comfortable and use to the water.
We watched and helped as Scout splashed and enjoyed every second of being in the water. My wife and I absolutely love this park and it is somewhere we will bring Scout to, for years to come. As we were leaving it did start to get a little crowded but overall it was a very relaxing and peaceful outing.

Scout’s Journey
Two months after our original visit and when I wrote the above story about our day at Seabridge Park, our daughter, Scout, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer (germ cell neoplasm) and our lives would forever change. At 15 months old, Scout was stricken with this horrible diagnosis and she would begin her almost year long battle. About two months ago, Scout underwent an almost 10 hour surgery to remove half of her liver and to remove as much of the tumor in her pelvic area as possible. The day after turning 2, on May 8th 2023, Scouts cancer was declared in remission.
Our family has slowly begun to return to normal life. Our focus has been on letting Scout have fun and stepping away from the darkness of the past year. Scout still has a bit of a road to travel to full recovery. However, we are so grateful to have reached this point. Scouts central line was removed from her chest on June 9th and her surgeon informed us that she would be able to resume water activities within one week. Scout had not been able to get wet for the past year. On my wifes birthday, June 26th, we returned to Seabridge Park. Scout now had her central line out and she re-entered the water and swam for hours. Scout didn’t miss a beat and for the first time in almost a year, Scout was finally back in the water doing one of her favorite things.

This has been a park that we have continued to visit and love coming too. The calm waters are great for Scout to get more and more comfortable with swimming.
