Overview
Sante Fe Park, located in the city of Placentia, just introduced their newly renovated, train and railroad themed playground in March of 2023. Although the park is small and lacks lawn space, kids will nonetheless, love the new playground. For families with kids who are train lovers, this is a perfect place to bring them. There are two separate play structures, one for kids 5-12 years old and the other for kids 2-5 years old. However, the playground is unquestionably aimed more towards the smaller kids.
Other great sights such as the Fullerton Arboretum and the Fullerton Train Museum are insanely close by and Santa Fe Park makes a great pit stop on the way. Another great plus is that if you are strapped for time, you don’t need to worry. While the kids will love playing here, the playground is only so big and they will probably be ready to go after an hour or less. Overall, the city of Placentia did an amazingly wonderful job with this renovation and the community will undoubtedly enjoy it for years to come.

Scouts Story
Less than five days ago, our daughter, Scout, had her most recent surgical procedure. For us, these procedures are always scary but these also mark huge stepping stones in Scout’s almost year battle since she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Not even two months has passed since Scout had her cancerous tumors in her liver (along with the right half of her liver) and pelvic area removed. Scout’s cancer has since been placed into remission and a few days ago her central line was removed from her chest. Yet another monumental step for Scout and our family.
After letting Scout take it easy for a few days, we were eager to get back outside with her. We figured there would be no better way to do so than to take her to play and check out the new train park, not that far from our house. Scout has been obsessed with trains throughout her whole treatment and we jump at any opportunity to take her to do anything train related. We decided to hit Santa Fe Park first and then head over to the Fullerton Arboretum (which Scout loves) and make a day of it. Scout ran around the playground for a little while but surprisingly, seemed ready to go after about 20 minutes. Although our trip to Santa Fe Park was short, we ended up staying at the botanical garden for a lot longer and all together had a great family outing.
