Overview
Pioneer Park is a super fun and spacious park located in the city of Anaheim. The park features tons of open lawn space and two exciting playgrounds, including a treehouse themed one as well as a Western/Pioneer Town Playground. Kids are sure to love both of these playgrounds and the grounds of the park are very welcoming. One of our family’s favorite parts of the park is the “Little Angel’s Stadium” wiffle ball field, located directly behind the Pioneer Town Playground. The artificial surface on the field has become a little run down but is still pretty nice. Families and visitors to Pioneer Park are sure to have a great time.

Scouts Story and Day At Pioneer Park
Christmas is now just a week away. This has been a really trying year, yet we were attempting to do everything that we can for our daughter, Scout, to bring some holiday cheer. Scout is now 1 month out from her most recent chemotherapy and her hair is almost entirely gone at this point. On the bright side, her energy levels seemed to be great. Scout is now in her fourth month of battling stage 4 cancer and will undergo P.E.T scans soon to help us determine the next steps in her treatment. The constant visits to the clinic and hospital are something that Scout has become accustomed to but still struggles with at times.
On this day, we decided to make a few stops before heading to the Oncology Clinic at Kaiser for Scout to do blood draws. Pioneer Park was super close to the hospital so we decided to stop and let Scout play before she would have to get poked at the hospital. We made our way to the pioneer/western playground and let Scout explore most of the playground. As Scout meandered around the playground, she carried her wiffle ball in her hand with her.
We decided to make our way to the super neat wiffle ball field, located directly behind the playground. Scout ran around the field for some time, tossing the wiffle ball and asking to be chased.
As the yawns from Scout were growing more prevalent, we decided we had better get to the hospital before she fell asleep. We were once again, incredibly thankful for this day outside with Scout, and we are eager for the upcoming results of her P.E.T to inform of us of Scout’s next steps in her battle.
