Overview
Glen Alla Park was opened in December of 2011 and recently was renamed Bill Rosendahl Del Rey Park in 2021. Located in Marina Del Rey, the small park features a nice, all inclusive playground from Shane’s Inspiration. The playground has a little pirate ship to go with its nautical and ocean theme and is accessible for kids of all abilities with tons of walkways and paths spread throughout. One of the things that makes this park special is the sand pit area that entails a huge whale that kids will love to climb on and a beautiful mosaic wall with a turtle structure that appears to be riding on it.
The playground is fenced and gated and has a small lawn area within and a gated dog park adjacent to it. The playground is a popular spot with local families and can tend to get busy but is a great place to spend the afternoon.

Scout’s Story
Having plans to take our daughter, Scout, to the Skirball Cultural Center, my wife and I decided it would be best to make the car ride shorter by stopping at a playground to play while we waited for the cultural center to open. It worked out perfectly and after an hour drive, Scout was excited to get out and play. Her eyes went directly to the roller slide and she climbed up time and time again to slide down. At 22 months old Scout is now at the age where she can manage a reasonable amount of the equipment on her own. She made her way to the spring jumper and waited for a gentleman to move so she could bounce for a bit. She gave the rock climbing wall a really good effort and then made her way to the swings.
Watching our daughters development has been such a delight and it never ceases to amaze me at all the new stuff she does. Scout played on almost all of the equipment on this day. The park has an incredible sand pit with a whale that she made her way to and climbed from the back to the front a few times. One of our struggles with visiting parks has been sand areas. As Scout has battled cancer for the past eight months, having a central line (pic line) in her chest is a necessity and something she lives with.
Playing in sand just isn’t an option for Scout but we are extremely happy to be back outdoors and grateful for all the things that she is currently able to do. We are making the most of the days as we await her upcoming tumor resection surgery.
