Overview

The Goodyear Public Library is a great example of making it easy to get your children to want to visit a library. The children’s area is absolutely phenomenal and offers a tree tunnel for kids to climb through to enter the area.

A tree log that kids can climb through marks the entrance to the Children's Library in Goodyear, AZ

A large tree serves as the focal point for the children’s area. Animals such as butterflies, ladybugs, bees and koalas adorn the ceilings and walls.

There is a great selection of children’s books on the inside and outside of the children’s area as well. Additionally, there is a computer section to allow kids to play interactive learning games that are excellent for children.

Scout’s Story and Day at the Goodyear Public Library

This is a really well done library and kids will be drawn to it as soon as they enter through the library doors. My wife and I, along with our 3 year old daughter, had the opportunity to visit as we were making a 7 hour drive from our home to Scottsdale, AZ. The Goodyear Library made a great stopping point for us and allowed us to get our daughter used to learning about playing quietly in spaces like libraries.

Overall our daughter did really well but there’s still some room for growth. She was just so excited and wanted to run as the children’s area looks like a play place. Finally we got her to calm down and were able to read her a few books.

Finally getting Scout to stop running around and to sit and read a few books

I thought this would be a short stop for us but we ended up spending over an hour here. This is truly a great library that kids will absolutely love.
