Overview
Well, let me just start by saying, WOW, this place is incredible. Or should I say magical. The room literally feels like you’ve been transported into an enchanted, fantasy wizarding world. It’s one of those places that really has to be seen to believe and understand. Visitors do need to realize that alcohol is not served here. This is a tea bar and the focus is on yummy boba drinks and ice cream.
For a small fee visitors can take part, just as we did, in a wizard test. This requires a wand and reciting a spell, followed by catching bubbles and adding them to your drink. There are many great drink options here but I elected to go with The Prophecy. This unique drink comes with a smoke bubble that is sure to excite the wizarding patrons. Also, expect to see cosplay, as many people dress up when visiting. The sparkling ceilings and decor are fabulous and the little table lamps really top off the setting.
Fantasy type movies are often playing on the screens here. We were treated to the Labyrinth during our visit.
There’s a few things to take into consideration when visiting. The hours are a little funky. I had been trying to visit for a very long time, but I was working weekends and nights. These are the two main times the tea bar is opened and is closed on Monday and Tuesdays, which were typically my days off at that time. Boy, am I glad that I finally got to visit.
My wife, her parents and our 2 year old daughter, Scout, all made the trip to the bar. My daughter loved it for the most part but this place is definitely best for kids 4 and up probably. Additionally, kids are welcome but it is 18 and over after 9 PM. Lastly, be on the lookout for the secret door that opens to the VIP room in the back of the bar. The fantasy environment that has been created here is truly magical.
Getting to the Elixir Tea Bar
Actually finding this place can be a little funky, but here’s what to do. Park and then head towards the lovers sex shop and to the right of that is the purple Haze smoke shop. Walk into the purple haze smoke shop and immediately turn right and head up the staircase. At the top you will reach the skeleton and the Elixir Tea Bar.
