Overview

Clipper Cove Park is a quiet, smaller park, with just under five acres of space, located in a nice residential area of beautiful Laguna Niguel. Upon arriving, there is street parking only and you cannot see the park until walking uphill for about a minute. The fact that the playground is tucked away probably keeps it a little quieter. The main attraction is the pirate ship but the setting is very pretty with some wooded areas backing up to the playground and a nice lawn area in front. There isn’t a ton of equipment but the equipment they have is very nice, including an incredible spider web climber. The park is in an insanely nice area with lots of things to do nearby, including beaches that are less than a 10 minute drive away. This is a phenomenal park and a great place to spend the afternoon.

Scout’s Story and Day at Clipper Cove Park

After our trip to Victoria Beach was cut short due to the tide being a bit too high and not being able to make it over to the pirate tower, we decided to try something else. After stopping at Ruby’s Diner to get some lunch, we made the 15 minute drive to Clipper Cove Park. Our daughter, Scout, ran around the pirate ship playground for some time before heading to the spinning wheel until she was too dizzy to go anymore.

Having just turned one, Scout was still getting used to navigating all the different equipment at different playgrounds. Watching her progress each time we visit somewhere new has been such a delight. Visiting playgrounds has become such a great outlet for us in developing her motor skills. We were the only ones at the park and not only was our visit fun but it was very relaxing as well. We love Laguna Niguel and can’t wait to visit again.
