Overview
Chase Palm Park is an exceptionally fun, 10 acre waterfront park, with beautiful grounds, including fountains, creeks and a lagoon among them. The Shipwreck Playground is the main attraction here with the fabulous mural backing it, really making it stand out. The Playground was modeled after an ocean schooner from the turn of the century and kids of all ages are sure to have an absolute blast here. While the Carousel dating to the 1920’s that had become so popular, is unfortunately no longer here, the park is still a fabulous destination and often serves as a popular event and wedding venue. For those wishing to take a dip in the ocean, the beach is right across the street.

Scout’s Story
After an incredible night of camping in the Oxnard area, my wife, our 2 year old daughter, Scout, and myself decided to head to Santa Barbara for a fun filled day of events. For those that aren’t aware of the treasures that lie within in Santa Barbara, let me get you started.
One of the best Natural History Museums one could imagine lies in this city, along with a fabulous Zoo and tons of kid friendly museums, such as the MOXI. For those wanting to let their kids stretch their legs at a park, look no further than the incredible Alameda Park, with its fantastic Castle Playground. This is one of the absolute best playgrounds in the State of California. Although not as mind blowing as Alameda Park, Chase Palm Park is also a great park to check out. The upside of Chase Palm Park is that it is located directly across the street from the beach.
Scout’s Day at Chase Palm Park
After a fabulous day at the Natural History Museum and the MOXI, our time in Santa Barbara was winding down as we would soon have to make the 3-4 hour drive back home. Hesitant and reluctant to leave, we decided to make one last stop to let Scout run around the playground at Chase Palm Park. The Shipwreck themed playground was an absolute hit with Scout, who at 3 months from turning 3 years old, essentially had no problem navigating every last section of the playground. Scout ran back and forth, from one area to the next, begging her mom to chase behind her.
Chase Palm Park is such a phenomenal park. Scout’s favorite thing was the plank that doubles as a slide. Overall, we just had a great time here as a family, enjoying our short two day getaway before heading back to work. We cannot wait to make a return back to Santa Barbara as every visit we make here has become a memorable one.
