Overview
Recently I have become aware of the amazingness that many public libraries have to offer. Admittedly, libraries are a place that I have rather seldom visited over my years of life. Now that I have a little child, I’ve branched out a little bit and have been rather shocked to learn how cool and entertaining so many libraries are, with especially unique and fun areas for children. While visiting libraries with a two year old can be tough, it’s also been a great way for us to introduce our daughter, Scout, to playing quietly in indoor spaces.
While the Canyon Hills Branch Library in Anaheim may not be as spectacular as some other libraries, it is still a very neat library and a great place to visit with younger kids. Near the beginning of the library is a very nice teen area with couches, bean bags and a study room.
In the very back of the library is the super cute children’s area. There is lots of Winnie the Pooh items and an amazing nature mural.
There are a few sensory related toys, including a fun train.
A seating area with tons of puzzles and other interactive items for children is the focal point of the children’s area.
Behind the children’s area are doors leading to a relaxing (fenced) lawn area with benches and reading areas.
After checking out the library parents may want to take the kids directly across the street to the super cute Imperial Park. For those looking for more excitement, the local area has tons to offer with Oak Canyon Nature Center being nearby as well as Box Canyon Park and the spectacular Irvine Regional Park being a relatively close drive as well.
