Overview
Acacia Park is a fantastic park in Fullerton, Ca, located in the back of a residential area, just down across the street from Cal State Fullerton University. There is lots of green grass for the kids to run around and the playground was rebuilt in 2024 with a nature theme and animals that adorn the playground such as a giant Woolly Mammoth. While this playground is excellent, it was sad to see the old wooden playground that was previously located here go. Parking can sometimes get a little crowded here as the college students sometimes have to find parking all the way up the street at the park but overall the park stays fairly quiet and has a relaxing feel to it.

Scout’s Story
We first started bringing our daughter, Scout, to Acacia Park in October of 2022 when she was only 18 months old and was undergoing treatment for stage 4 cancer at the Cancer clinic in Anaheim. Acacia Park was perfectly situated in between the clinic and our house, so it made a great spot to stop and let Scout run around by herself. At that time there was a wooden playground there that had been fenced off as they were due to tear it down in the coming months.

We would just sneak around it to let Scout play for a bit but I was curious to see what they would do with the area once the wooden playground was tore down.
In 2024 the new playground was opened and we were happy to visit, with a now 2 year old Scout, who had been cancer free and in remission for nearly 6 months. Scout is finally starting to get her back and it’s been pretty nice to watch her play freely with other kids with no worries of getting sick due to a weakened immune system.

The playground is super modern and very nice. While it was sad to see the old wooden one go, this one seems like it will serve the community for a long time going forward.
